Delivery Archetypes

This note identifies the main archetypes by which truth can be delivered.

The point is not to reduce writing to personas. It is to notice that the same kernel can arrive in different modes, and that each mode changes:

  • authority
  • pacing
  • temperature
  • evidence style
  • relation to the audience
  • relation to certainty

This is another control layer in the narrative crystal.

Why This Matters

Two pieces can preserve the same kernel and affective dual while still feeling radically different because they are delivered through different archetypes.

For example:

  • a prophet names what is wrong
  • a herald announces that an opening exists
  • a mystic speaks from encounter

Same deep object. Different arrival mode.

Core Archetypes

Prophet

The prophet names:

  • corruption
  • closure
  • extraction
  • failure
  • consequence

The prophet is:

  • morally hot
  • clarifying
  • urgent
  • confrontational when needed

The prophet does not merely explain. The prophet demands reorientation.

Herald

The herald announces:

  • an opening
  • a threshold
  • a coming project
  • the arrival of possibility

The herald is:

  • invitational
  • proclamatory
  • forward-facing
  • energized by nearness

The herald says: the kingdom is near, the hunt is open, the road is not closed.

Mystic

The mystic speaks from:

  • encounter
  • excess
  • beauty
  • paradox
  • direct apprehension of what exceeds the frame

The mystic is:

  • thresholded
  • less linear
  • more image-bearing
  • more willing to let unsayability remain

The mystic does not abandon rigor. The mystic refuses to pretend the real is exhausted by explanatory prose.

Teacher

The teacher:

  • orders
  • defines
  • distinguishes
  • guides
  • transmits

The teacher is:

  • paced
  • coherent
  • clarifying
  • trustworthy

The teacher makes the structure legible.

Witness

The witness says:

  • this is what I saw
  • this is what happened
  • this is what it did to me

The witness draws authority from:

  • testimony
  • concreteness
  • encounter

The witness grounds abstraction in lived contact.

Poet

The poet works by:

  • image
  • rhythm
  • compression
  • resonance
  • indirection

The poet lets truth be undergone before it is sorted.

Sage

The sage:

  • integrates
  • compares scales
  • holds paradox
  • sees recurrence
  • refuses haste

The sage is:

  • wide-angle
  • patient
  • pattern-sensitive

The sage often appears when the project is trying to read the same structure across many domains.

Builder

The builder asks:

  • what do we make
  • how do we structure it
  • what are the next steps
  • how do we preserve integrity while moving

The builder converts insight into form.

Shepherd

The shepherd:

  • steadies
  • tends
  • protects livability
  • keeps truth from becoming crushing

The shepherd is especially important when the material is heavy, apocalyptic, or morally intense.

Scout

The scout:

  • moves ahead of consensus
  • notices anomaly
  • brings back partial maps
  • risks being wrong in order to widen the field

The scout is often the first mode in speculative work.

Archetype Questions

Before writing or adapting a section, ask:

  1. Who is speaking here?
  2. What authority is being claimed?
  3. What does this mode permit?
  4. What does this mode distort if overused?

Best Reading

Delivery archetypes are not decorative overlays.

They are one of the ways a lawful projection remains coherent.

The same kernel can arrive:

  • as warning
  • as invitation
  • as explanation
  • as encounter
  • as map

Knowing which mode is active helps keep the piece:

  • honest
  • well-paced
  • tonally coherent
  • faithful to its own object
