M44 separating-experiment programme v1
The inverse response-jet audit produces eleven distinct ambiguity pairs across its location, affine-gradient and width equivalence classes. This tranche compiles those pairs into the smallest declared programme that can separate them.
The compiler finds a complete cover, but it requires all five actions:
- an absolute-anchor pilot retaining constant and affine terms;
- a frozen ordinary phase-space prediction;
- replication on an independently calibrated withheld spectrograph;
- a carrier-specific law tested on withheld spectral lines;
- hierarchical multi-epoch width deconvolution.
This is not an argument for doing everything immediately. The actions form a staged programme with early termination.
Stage 0: derive
Derive the response of displacement, tilt, bend and thickness on named carriers, including normalization and falsifiers. This prerequisite is currently missing. If it cannot be supplied, do not acquire a large bespoke dataset: the geometric members remain untyped aliases.
Stage 1: reconstruct
Propagate member-level astrometric, spectral, fitted-model and selection covariance, then freeze an ordinary phase-space prediction before inspecting new spectroscopy. This makes “ordinary dynamics” a predictive competitor rather than a flexible after-the-fact label.
Stage 2: observe once, retain identity
Use the same pilot to preserve star, line, epoch, instrument and reduction identity. The second instrument remains withheld until the model is frozen. Location, line coherence and residual width are evaluated jointly rather than collapsed into one catalogue radial velocity.
Stage 3: adjudicate
Rerun the response-jet inversion and compare only preregistered observable classes. Any surviving aliases produce abstention. Pair coverage means that an action supplies a declared discriminator; it does not guarantee adequate statistical power or a geometric discovery.
The compiled programme authorizes no observation, external contact or expenditure. Its immediate output is a stop rule: the source-derived carrier law precedes bespoke data collection.
