Organizes thought or workflow but is not evidence for a physical claim. checks assumptions, certificates, counterexamples and stopping rules.
Exact assertion
Write an arrow on a strip of paper, give the strip a half twist, and join the ends. After one circuit the arrow returns reversed; after two it returns fully. A projective double cover records this without pretending that the paper moved through an extra physical dimension.
The claim supplies a map or analogy. It becomes a derivation only after an explicit carrier-preserving map and invariant are given.
Chapter “The projective loop”, section “A familiar twisted-loop picture”. This is assertion 1 of 2 in that section.
Treat the passage as organization or analogy unless a cited carrier-preserving map is supplied.
checks assumptions, certificates, counterexamples and stopping rules.
Provide an explicit map that preserves the claimed structure, then identify an observable consequence that the analogy alone did not supply.
